Kimberley Hope Tour
In July, Youth Alive will be venturing to the Kimberley with the Nubian Gents. We are calling it the Kimberley Hope Tour.
Many of the indigenous young people of our state are faced with incredible hopelessness. A young 13 year old boy looks at the prospect of his life and sees it cut short by 17 years compared to the average Australian. It’s been said that only 25% of young indigenous children living in the remote parts of our state can expect to live beyond 56 years of age.
There is no greater time for the church to rise up and meet this challenge of hopelessness. What we enjoy in the cities and larger regional areas in terms of events and outreach opportunities can be brought to these remote communities to provide so much hope and inspiration for a better future.
The great news is that the Australian Childrens Trust which is chaired by Andrew Forrest has donated $17,000 towards this event. Together with the further $7,000 that we have raised through other means we have almost met budget to be able to take the Nubian Gents on a week long tour of the remote communities in the Kimberley. Thank God! Please pray for the team and let's believe that we will see a real move of God amongst these people and see many lives impacted.
